ABOUT US
We are a mixed club of approx 180 members, with our pavilion and greens situated on the picturesque East End Reserve in New Plymouth - main centre of the Taranaki Province and the heart of New Zealand’s Energy and Dairying industries. New Members and Visitors are always welcome. Do get in touch if you would like to “give bowls a try”; if you are looking to join a bowls club for the season or if Lawn Bowls is something you haven’t yet given a go. Do have a look through our “Getting into Bowls” page in 'The Club' item of the main menu and the "Mates in Bowls" details - a "give it a go" programme for business, family, workplace and even street teams and the like!

PRESIDENT’S WELCOME 2009-10 SEASON
Greetings - fellow bowlers and welcome to the 2009/10 season with a special welcome to those new bowlers who have joined us this season.
It is a privilege and an honour to be your Club President and I will certainly do the best I can in this role - as others have done in the past. I have been part of the initial trial, over the past couple of years, of the Board based administration and certainly approve of this concept.
This season the new Executive structure has become a reality and is now incorporated as part of our recently adopted new Constitution. As with many other Clubs and organizations at this time we too are being faced with making some critical decisions in regards to issues such as income sources; overhead and other costs; recruitment issues and the strengthening of our volunteer base. You can all expect to hear from your executive in these and other regards as the season progresses.
Please support the secondary school bowls which have now become such an important part of Bowls Fitzroy, and encourage these and others of our new recruits. Our new players and junior members, are the future of your Club. Please try to introduce new bowlers to the Club and continue to do your best to encourage them into the game and into Club activity once they have joined us.
Let's make this - our 106th year - one to remember; for our successes, our camaraderie, our competitiveness and our efficiency.
